The Parasol

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "The Parasol" by Francisco de Goya.

As usual, Goya chooses another costume scene in the village environment. Two figures appear, a young woman dressed in French fashion, and a servant of an "entourage" - accompanied by married women of high social class - dressed as a "majo", without the description of the same author elucidating whether the scene is flirting or just the lady with the servant.

La Maja

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "La Maja" by Francisco de Goya.

Originally, this painting and its "sister", La maja nua, were called "gypsies" and not "majas". They were supposed to be placed one on top of the other, the one dressed on the nude, to surprise the courtly audience. Goya painted it with loose, pasty and very free brushstrokes, unlike La maja nua, in which the painter is more picky about treating flesh and shadows. The figure of the maja is bathed in a light that highlights the different textures.

The Mona Lisa

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "The Mona Lisa" by Leonardo da Vinci.

The Mona Lisa is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, the most famous portrait in history and perhaps the most famous painting in Western painting. It is a half-length portrait in which a woman appears who looks directly at the viewer with an expression that has often been described as enigmatic. It was painted between 1503 and 1506; is an oil on poplar board of 77 × 53 cm retouched several times by the author. The technique used was the sfumato, a very characteristic procedure of Leonardo.

The Announcement

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "The Announcement" by Leonardo da Vinci.

The work was unknown until 1867, when it reached the Uffizi from the sacristy of the church of San Bartolomeo, attached to the suppressed monastery of the Olivetans. It was then attributed to Ghirlandaio, who was, like Leonardo, an apprentice in Verrocchio's workshop; there are also those who considered it to be the work of the latter. In 1869, some critics recognized it as Leonardo's youthful work..

Starry Night

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "Starry Night" by Vincent van Gogh.

The oil The Starry Night was painted by artist Vincent van Gogh during his voluntary internment at Saint Paul de Mausole Psychiatric Hospital. The composition shows a sky with two nebulous spirals that embrace each other creating the sensation of movement and fluidity. In the night sky, along with the eleven stars, there is an equally bright yellowish crescent moon, giving the impression of a sun instead of a moon. The church tower and the cypress are the only elements that point towards the sky. They represent nature, to which they cheer.

Wheat Field with Crows

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "Wheat Field with Crows" by Vincent van Gogh, his latest work.

In the work he shows us his beautiful yellow color, which was his favorite. A yellow, portrayed in an intense way. His wishes and tastes are haunted by a gang of crows, which obscure the scene. This aspect seems to influence the work, since a contrast is created between the favorite yellow and the darkness that appears in the sky. It is a navy blue, in which dark tones are seen, which give the work a dark character. Heaven shows sadness and loneliness contrasted with hope located in the wheat, which marked the work of Van Gogh.

Vase with twelve sunflowers

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "Vase with twelve sunflowers" by Vincent van Gogh Arles collection.

By 1888, Van Gogh was fed up with feeling "totally numb" in Paris. For this reason, he went to the south of France and settled in the idyllic commune of Arles. There he found more artistic inspiration, which led him to resume his favorite Sunflower themes. This new “taste” resulted in his Arles Sunflowers series, a collection of five pieces with studies of these flowers in vases. He painted the flowers in various shades of yellow, "demonstrating that it was possible to create an image with numerous single-color variants without losing eloquence."

The Coronation of the Virgin

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "The Coronation of the Virgin" by Diego Velázquez.

It is not very common for Velázquez to carry out religious-themed works since portraits are his specialty. On this occasion, the Coronation of the Virgin was commissioned for the oratory of Queen Elizabeth of Bourbon's room. Thus, Mary is placed in the center, Christ on the left, God the Father on the right and the Holy Spirit between them, forming the Trinity. The novelty would come from the air of naturalness that Velázquez has breathed into the three sacred heads

Las Meninas

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "Las Meninas" by Diego Velázquez is the penultimate work of the painter.

He portrays the Infanta Margarita surrounded by her small court. Originally titled The Empress and Her Ladies and later The Family, it was listed in the 19th century under the name Las Meninas. The atmosphere that Diego de Velázquez manages to convey in his painting Las Meninas contrasts with the nature of the family. The royal family is considered unreachable, but Velázquez manages to make the viewer feel the intimacy of a family atmosphere.

Death and Life

€129.00

Piece inspired by the work "Death and Life" by Gustav Klimt.

In it we see death, on the left side of the canvas, and it is wrapped in a shroud decorated in the Klimt style. He carries a scepter in his hand and even without eyes, he seems to watch the dance of life outlining a macabre smile. After a wide empty space there is life, crowded, chaotic, always on the move, with children protected by the embrace of mothers, men to their women ... A swirl of cells, tissues and figures with closed eyes so as not to see the inevitable . An old penitent woman in the middle of this conglomerate, seems resigned to understand that death is a slow process, so slow that it lasts a lifetime.

Apples, ginger pot and...

€119.00

Piece inspired by the work "Apples, ginger pot and plate on a ledge" by Piet Mondrian.

Realistic and bright, these objects are located in space with an artificial order that perfectly explains what each material is made of, the touch that each texture has, where the light comes from ... We could look for symbolism for those 5 apples, or that Upright plate, or that empty jar, but honestly, I doubt that this is relevant. This little watercolor is almost an experiment.

Composition III Red, Yellow...

€99.00

Piece inspired by the work "Composition III Red, Yellow and Blue" by Piet Mondrian.

Why these three colors: Red, Yellow and Blue? These colors are basic so that combining them you can create any other color in the rainbow: green, purple, orange, and all the other shades in between. Creating these three basic colors is impossible because they are individual colors, that is why they are called primary colors. In this work the squares containing these colors are full of energy.
